Glossary
When we describe a book and/or dustwrapper's condition we sometimes use the following abbreviations...

As New – Although the book is second-hand it is effectively new, as it has been unread.

Fine – Almost new, with no blemishes.

Very Good – May have been read once or twice, owner’s name possibly on inside cover, occasional pencil or ink marks.

Good – A used readable copy, may have turned down corners, ink marks, browning etc.

Fair – Readable, but in a poor state of repair, or the notes within are very numerous.

For the Dust Jacket – As New, Fine and Very Good mean that there are no rips or tears in the Dust Jacket; Good means that there may be one or two small tears; Fair means that the Dust Jacket is available but is in a bad state of repair, with numerous tears and possibly dirty.
